French knitting is a traditional technique which can be used to teach the basics of knitting.

This lovely knitting kit comprises a wooden knitting doll, 4 colours of wool and a plastic knitting needle. As you master the craft, a tube of knitted wool comes out of the doll.

This is a perfect starter set. Knitting encourages creative thinking and helps with hand/eye coordination and dexterity.
